What Happens to My Shifts When I Take Leave

Leave and Your Roster

When leave is approved:

  • You are automatically blocked from being rostered on those dates
  • The AI will not assign you shifts during your leave period
  • If you were already assigned shifts, the roster builder is notified of the conflict

If you see a shift during approved leave:

  • This shouldn't happen, but if it does, contact your roster builder immediately
  • The system should have flagged this as a conflict

When requesting leave:

  • The system checks if you're already rostered on those dates
  • If you are, the roster builder sees a coverage impact warning
  • This doesn't prevent you from requesting – it just helps the approver make an informed decision

Tip: Request leave before the roster is published for your period, when possible.
