Analytics Workspace — Slicing the Data Your Way
Analytics Workspace
The Analytics workspace is a flexible dashboard for slicing the underlying data your way — trend charts, ad-hoc filters, comparisons across periods.
Where to find it
Sidebar → Analytics (where enabled). URL: /analytics.
When to use it
- Quarterly review with leadership
- Investigation — "why did our weekend overtime spike in March?"
- Modelling change — "if we add a 5th RN to ED Mornings, what's the projected cost / fairness impact?"
What you can do
- Pivot any metric (hours, cost, fill %, leave) by Stream / Craft Group / shift pattern / staff
- Compare two periods side-by-side
- Save dashboards for reuse
- Export charts as PNG or data as CSV
Common workflows
| Question | How to build it |
|---|---|
| "Where did overtime spike?" | Pivot OT hours by Stream, time series by week |
| "Is fairness improving?" | Pivot Fairness Score by Craft Group, time series by month |
| "Which shifts drive agency spend?" | Pivot Agency hours by shift pattern, sort descending |
| "How does this fortnight compare to last quarter?" | Compare two periods, side-by-side metric panels |
Tips
- Save your common views — most managers end up using 2–3 dashboards regularly.
- For one-off questions, IRIS chat is faster than building a dashboard. Try "Why did our weekend OT spike in March?" before opening Analytics.
- Export as CSV when you need to combine the data with finance / HR systems.
