Setting Multiple Availability Blocks for the Same Day

Multiple Availability Blocks on the Same Day

You can set more than one availability block on a single date as long as the blocks don't overlap in time. This is useful when you're available at different times of day — for example:

  • Available 08:00–12:00 (morning only)
  • Preferred 14:00–20:00 (evening, your preference)

How to add a second block:

  1. Go to My Availability (Sidebar → My Availability)
  2. Click on a date that already has an availability block
  3. The edit modal opens showing the existing block
  4. Look for the "Add another block" option in the modal
  5. Set the new time window and availability type
  6. Save — both blocks will appear on the calendar for that date

How to edit or delete an individual block:

  1. Click the date on the calendar
  2. If there are multiple blocks, a list of all blocks for that day is shown
  3. Click Edit or Delete next to the specific block you want to change
  4. Changes only affect that individual block — the other blocks on that date are untouched

Rules:

  • Blocks on the same day must not overlap in time (you'll see the Conflict Resolution Modal if they do)
  • Each block can have a different availability type (e.g. one block "Available", another "Preferred")
  • Recurring patterns work per block — each block can have its own recurrence rule

Tip: The roster builder and AI can see all your blocks when making assignments. A shift that falls within any of your blocks will be matched to the most suitable one (Preferred is prioritised over Available).
