What to Do If You Can't Make a Shift

Can't Make a Shift?

If you know in advance:

  1. Try a direct shift swap first — go to My Shifts → right-click the shift → Request Swap
  2. If you don't have a swap partner, post an open swap — anyone qualified can take it
  3. If swapping isn't an option, request leave through the Leave Planner
  4. Notify your roster builder as soon as possible

If it's an emergency or sudden illness:

  1. Contact your roster builder or manager directly (phone/text)
  2. Submit a sick leave request through the Leave Planner as soon as you can
  3. The roster builder will find cover

Want to pick up extra shifts?

  • Check Shift Deck → My Deck → Open Shifts for vacant shifts you can request

What NOT to do:

  • Don't just not show up without notifying anyone
  • Don't assume someone will cover for you without arranging it
  • Don't modify the roster yourself (only roster builders can do that)
