How to Track Your Open Shift Requests
Tracking Your Open Shift Requests
Where to check:
- Go to Shift Deck (Sidebar → Shift Deck)
- Click the My Requests tab
- Scroll to the Open Shift Applications section
Or check on the calendar: Go to My Shifts and toggle on the My Requests overlay (Show on calendar → My Requests) to see all your pending requests and swap offers as yellow markers on the calendar itself. Click a marker for details and to withdraw.
Request statuses:
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Pending | Waiting for roster builder review, or waiting for IRIS Generate / Fill Gaps to run |
| Approved | You've been assigned to the shift |
| Declined | Not approved — read the response note (manual decline by roster builder, or automatic decline when IRIS could not assign you) |
| Withdrawn | You cancelled your request |
| Expired | The vacancy was closed or the deadline passed |
After IRIS Generate or Fill Gaps
When your roster builder runs Generate with IRIS or Fill Gaps, pending requests for those vacancies are re-evaluated:
- Approved — you qualified and IRIS assigned you (or a roster builder applied an IRIS suggestion that included your request)
- Declined — IRIS determined you were ineligible for that specific vacancy; the response note explains why (unavailable, leave, scope, craft group, already assigned, etc.)
- Still Pending — the slot was not filled in that run; your request stays in the queue for manual review or a later IRIS run
Staff with an eligible open shift request are ranked in the Requested This Shift tier during Fill Gaps — see Fill Gaps — IRIS Tactical Mode.
To withdraw a pending request:
- Find the request in My Requests
- Click Cancel Request
- The request is withdrawn and the open shift remains available for others
