Seeing Open Shifts From Other Craft Groups

Open Shifts From Other Craft Groups

You may see open shifts on the grid that belong to a different craft group. Here is what they mean and what you can do.

For staff

Shifts you are eligible for — shown in orange on the Roster Command Center grid and in Shift Deck. Click to request.

Shifts you are NOT eligible for — shown as a muted grey tile labelled "Open · {craft name}". These are view-only; you cannot click to request them. They appear so you can see overall vacancy patterns in your department.

Shifts with additional craft eligibility — if a roster builder added your craft group as an "additional" eligibility to an open shift, it shows as orange and you can request it normally.

Requesting an ineligible shift

If you believe you can cover an open shift outside your standard craft group, use Browse All Open Shifts on Shift Deck — toggle it on to see all organisation-wide open shifts. Shifts outside your qualifications show a warning and require a written justification. The roster builder reviews these manually.

For roster builders (L5 grid)

  • Primary craft row — full open shift badge showing vacancy count
  • Additional craft rows — a small blue "+N open" tile; clicking it opens the Vacancy Management panel for that shift
