How to Add Extra Craft Groups to an Open Shift (Beyond Level 2)

Adding Extra Craft Groups to an Open Shift

When Level 2 only covers one craft but you need wider coverage, you can add additional craft groups to an open shift. Staff in those extra craft groups will immediately see the shift on their Shift Deck and can request it.

Creating an open shift with extended eligibility

  1. On the Roster Command Center, right-click any empty cell → "Add Open Shift"
  2. The "Create Open Shift" modal opens — Level 2 craft groups are pre-filled automatically
  3. Below the craft group list, click "+ Add another craft group (beyond Level 2)"
  4. A picker appears — select any craft group not already in the list
  5. The new row is added with a blue "ADDITIONAL" badge, indicating it was manually extended beyond Level 2
  6. Repeat to add more craft groups if needed
  7. Set slots, deadline, and any required scopes, then click "Create Open Shift"

What the badges mean

  • No badge — craft group came from the Level 2 staffing plan (auto-derived)
  • "ADDITIONAL" blue pill — craft group was manually added beyond Level 2

What staff see

Staff whose craft group matches any of the listed crafts (including additional ones) see the open shift on their Shift Deck → My Deck → Open Shifts and can request it exactly like any other open shift.

Removing an additional craft

Each "ADDITIONAL" row has a trash icon — click it to remove that craft. L2-derived rows cannot be individually removed (they reflect the staffing plan).

Tip: Use additional crafts when multiple craft groups could safely cover a gap — e.g. adding "CMO (gp)" to a shift normally covered by "CMO (ep)". Both groups will see the vacancy and can request it.
