The Intelligence Bar — Apply Master Roster and Fill Gaps

The Intelligence Bar

The Intelligence Bar is the horizontal action bar near the top of The Living Roster page. It contains two key actions for fast roster building:

Apply Master Roster

Stamps your Master Roster templates onto the live roster for a selected date range.

1. Go to The Living Roster (Sidebar → The Living Roster)
2. Click Apply Master Roster in the Intelligence Bar
3. Select the stream and date range
4. Click Apply — IRIS copies all repeating patterns from your Master Roster

This gives you your baseline roster in seconds — all the regular assignments (who always covers Triage on Mondays, who always does the Night shift on Tuesdays) are placed automatically.

Fill Gaps

After applying the master roster, there will usually be gaps (nurses on leave, new staff without patterns, etc.).

1. Click Fill Gaps in the Intelligence Bar
2. IRIS enters "Tactical Mode" — it prioritises coverage over perfect fairness
3. IRIS ranks candidates: staff who requested open shifts → staff with preferred hours → staff who are simply available
4. You review the ranked suggestions and approve

Workflow: Apply Master Roster first → Fill Gaps second. Two actions, one complete roster. What used to take hours now takes minutes.

Where to find it: The Intelligence Bar appears at the top of The Living Roster page when you're in Staff View.
